SPORTS DIPLOMACY AS A TOOL FOR PUBLIC DIPLOMACY

چکیده
Kamu diplomasisi, uluslararası alanda geleneksel diplomasinin yeni bir boyutu olarak tanımlanmakta olup, günümüzde aktörler tarafından kamuoylarını etkilemek ve kendi belirledikleri amaçlar doğrultusunda hareket etmelerini sağlayan diplomasi aracıdır. Bu doğrultuda devletler kamuoyunun ilgi duyduğu takip ettiği spor organizasyonlarından faydalanarak kamu diplomasisi yöntemlerini geliştirmektedir. Uluslararası sportif başarının yumuşak güç unsuru kullanılması devletlerin bu çerçevede oluşturdukları imaj, dış politika oluşturma uygulama etkilemektedir. Ülkemizin coğrafi konumunun vermiş olduğu avantajların yanı sıra, birçok medeniyete ev sahipliği yapmasıyla oluşan derin tarihsel birikimi, güçlü millet bağı bölgesindeki lider konumu göz önünde bulundurulduğunda çalışmanın amacı, ekonomik, sosyal, siyasal kamusal faydalar bulundurularak aracı diplomasisini etkin verimli kullanmaktır.
